Commute Connection and the California Highway Patrol honored I-205
FSP patrol drivers recently at a Driver's Appreciation Breakfast. These
FSP drivers patrol I-205 during heavy commuter travel hours. Each day FSP drivers
rescue scores of motorists who run out of gas, have a flat tire or a
number of other car problems on the freeway. The goal of the FSP program
is to reduce the congestion caused by disabled vehicles on the freeway
and to provide assistance during large construction projects. The
following is a chart of calls FSP has handled in the past eleven months.
According to survey results, 98% of drivers who were assisted by FSP
drivers rated the drivers and their service as Excellent. We continually
receive calls from stranded motorists who are extremely thankful for
this service and the professionalism and helpfulness of the FSP drivers. Commute Connection and the California Highway Patrol would like to thank
the drivers of Mike's Towing for an outstanding job performed under very
dangerous and difficult circumstances.

BIKE TO WORK WEEK
A HUGE SUCCESS!
|
|
Bike to Work Week 2010 was a major success in both Stanislaus
and San Joaquin Counties with nearly 600 cyclists
signing up for
Commute Connection's bike raffle and many residents
opting to pedal to the office, leaving their cars at home for a
day or two. |
| The event, which capped California Bike
to Work Week, and the California Amgen Race featuring some of
the top cyclists in the world, was a reminder that there are
healthy alternatives to driving to work every day. |
Events were held
in
Stockton, Modesto and Tracy promoting Bike to Work Week. Winners of Commute
Connection’s raffle were Kaleb Anderson (pictured) of Stockton and Laurie
French of Modesto. Kaleb, a student at San Joaquin Delta
Community College, was very excited to be the winner of one of
the bicycles. Kaleb cycles to work in Stockton’s Lincoln Center
and was in need of a bike because his brakes were about out and
the soles of his tennis shoes were getting low!
Laurie rode her old bike to work at the City of Modesto. Both
welcomed their new rides! |
