RIDESHARE WEEK
OCTOBER 3rd - 9th

Rideshare Week is a nationally recognized event which is held every year during the first week of October to promote commuting alternatives to driving alone. It's a fun way to help the environment and help your company GO GREEN. Ridesharing can make a big difference to your community. When you rideshare you create fewer C02 emissions, reduce traffic congestion on roadways, and create less congestion in employer parking lots. Commute Connection encourages all commuters to make a difference by replacing their solo drive with a new, more sustainable commute which would include, Carpooling, Vanpooling, or riding Transit. Pledge to rideshare at least one day during Rideshare Week.

Commute Connection is offering Corporate Challenges and Individual Commuter Pledges this year. Employers and their employees are encouraged to participate in our Corporate Challenge and individuals are encouraged to participate in the Individual Commuter Pledge.

Commuters who participate in the Individual Commuter Pledge will be eligible to win a Visa® Gift Card valued at $250 and a cutting edge Jawbone® Bluetooth. There will be three winners chosen for these prizes, one from each of the following counties: San Joaquin County, Stanislaus County and Merced County.

The Corporate Challenge is for companies with 10 or more employees. Participating companies must be located within San Joaquin, Stanislaus or Merced Counties.  Each commuter participating in the Corporate Challenge must register with Commute Connection and record their daily mode of transportation during Rideshare Week. The company chosen as the winner of the Corporate Challenge will win a luncheon for all participants valued at up to $500, plus Rideshare Week T-Shirts for each participant. In addition, employees who participate in the Corporate Challenge are also eligible to participate in the Individual Commuter Pledge.

Additional information to come, so stay tuned! Also visit us on our FACEBOOK page or our website at www.CommuteConnection.com for updates as we get closer to Rideshare Week 2011!
