year? Have you made a New Year's Resolution? Did it include finding a
new commuting partner? Would you like to save money on your daily
commute? Would you like to save wear and tear on your car? Have you
checked our website lately for new rideshare partners? Every day new
people register to find rideshare partners. We have had hundreds of
registered commuters make changes to their profiles in the last few
months. If you are in need of a rideshare partner, take a minute to run
a matchlist to see if there are commuters with similar commute patterns

ALTAMONT
CORRIDOR RAIL PROJECT
|
|
High
Speed Rail in California has been envisioned as a bold new way to meet
the state's growing transportation needs since the early 1990's. In 2008
Prop 1A was approved by California voters approving the funding needed
to move the High-Speed Train system forward. Currently the network is
being designed to link all of the state's major metropolitan areas with
high-speed trains. The Altamont Corridor Rail Project will create a
vital link between the Bay Area and San Joaquin Valley, as well as the
statewide High-Speed Train network.
By connecting these communities, the
opportunities to improve the quality of life, enhance the environment
and spur a new era of economic prosperity are just around the corner.
Construction of the Altamont Corridor Rail Project could create up to
120,000 direct and indirect jobs. The Altamont Corridor operation could
create up to 60,000 permanent jobs in Northern California.
The vision is to transform the
existing ACE service into a modern, efficient streamlined system. The
Altamont Corridor Express will speed intercity travelers and commuters
from the Central Valley to the Silicon Valley faster than ever before;
cutting the current 2 plus hour trip down to approximately 1 hour. To
