Rideshare Week (October):
Rideshare Week was October
5th, 2012. The
annual celebration of Rideshare Week took place the first week of
October, and was declared to be San Joaquin Valley's most successful
to date with participation showing a 52% increase from the year
before. Over 820 participants across San Joaquin, Stanislaus and
Merced counties pledged to use sustainable transportation at least
one day between October 1st and 5th, with the goal of alleviating
congestion and improving local air quality.
This quantity of single occupancy vehicles reduced from the roadways equates to a line of bumper-to-bumper cars approximately 2.8 miles in length!
Telecommuter Appreciation Week (February): sponsored by the American Telecommuting Association, this event is designed to celebrate and share the benefits of telecommuting.
